Woodstock painting for Towne Lake homes, downtown cottages and new townhome rows (30188)
Woodstock has two personalities: established neighborhoods from the late 1980s and 1990s, and a newer, walkable downtown ringed with townhomes and cottage homes. We paint both, inside and out. ZIP 30188.

Most Woodstock painting work is exterior repaints of fiber cement and hardboard homes in Towne Lake and nearby subdivisions, kitchen cabinet refinishing, and interior updates in newer downtown townhomes. Exteriors take about four to six working days, cabinets five to seven. Call (470) 458-0461 to schedule a walkthrough and written estimate.
Woodstock sits along I-575 in south Cherokee, with Lake Allatoona a short drive west. The Towne Lake area and the neighborhoods around it filled in through the late 1980s and 1990s, and many of those homes are now on their third exterior paint job. Their kitchens, meanwhile, often still have the original oak cabinets.
Closer to Main Street, Woodstock has added a lot of newer housing: townhome rows, small-lot cottage homes and mixed-use buildings within walking distance of the shops. Those homes have their own problems, mostly scuffed builder paint, tight stairwells and association rules about anything on the outside.

Homes here
Woodstock's housing, from 1990s two-stories to downtown townhomes
The established neighborhoods are mostly two-story traditionals with hardboard or fiber cement lap siding, brick or stone across part of the front, and painted wood or composite trim. Hardboard from that era swells where water sits at the bottom edge and around downspouts, while fiber cement holds paint well but cracks at joints if caulk fails. Many decks out back are on their fourth or fifth coat of stain.
The newer downtown homes use fiber cement, board and batten and some brick, with narrow side yards and steep three-story elevations. Inside, builders typically used a single flat paint on walls and a basic semi-gloss on trim. After a few years of living, walls mark easily and stair walls show every handprint, so owners ask for a tougher sheen and cleaner lines.

Most requested
Painting jobs Woodstock homeowners schedule most
Kitchen cabinet refinishing
Doors and drawers removed, degreased, sanded and primed with a bonding primer, then sprayed in a cured enamel. Most Woodstock kitchens run about $4,380 to $7,940, depending on door count and grain filling.

Third repaint on aging hardboard
By the third paint cycle, hardboard edges have soaked up water more than once. We check every bottom course and replace swollen boards rather than paint over them.
Narrow lots near downtown
Tight side yards between townhomes and cottages limit ladder angles and overspray room. We brush and roll near neighbors' walls and plan access with the association ahead of time.
Builder flat paint indoors
Flat builder paint won't scrub clean. We prime marked areas and switch walls to an eggshell or matte enamel that handles kids, pets and backpacks better.
Pine pollen and mildew on decks
Wooded lots drop pollen and needles onto decks every spring. We clean, brighten and let the wood dry fully before stain, or it won't soak in evenly.
Timing
Booking painting work in Woodstock through the year
Exterior jobs in Woodstock fill up fast in late spring and early fall, so calling a few weeks ahead helps. March and April bring heavy yellow pollen, and we wash right before coating if a layer has settled. Summer storms come through most afternoons, so outside crews start early. Cabinet work suits any season, though we like the drier air of fall and winter for curing enamel. Townhome interiors are often scheduled around move-ins and moves.
Questions
Painting questions from Woodstock
Will my painted oak cabinets in Woodstock show the wood grain?
Oak has open grain that shows through paint unless it's filled. If you want a smooth, modern look, we apply a grain filler and sand it flat before primer. If you're fine seeing some texture, we skip the filler and save a day. We'll show you a sample door finished both ways before we start your cabinet repaint.
Does my Woodstock townhome association handle exterior painting or do I?
It depends on your declaration. Some associations repaint the whole building on a schedule, others leave doors, decks and trim to owners. We're happy to paint the parts you're responsible for and match the approved colors. Read your documents or ask your manager first, then call (470) 458-0461 and we'll price just your portion.
Can you paint the outside of my house in one color and only refresh the trim later?
You can split the work, but timing matters. If trim caulk has failed, water gets in no matter how fresh the siding looks. We usually suggest doing caulk and trim first if budget is tight, since that protects the house, and body color can follow within a year or two. See our fascia and soffit work for the trim side.
How long will I be without my kitchen during a cabinet repaint?
Usually not long. We take doors and drawers to a spray area and finish the cabinet boxes in place, so the kitchen is masked for about two to three days. Counters and sink stay usable most evenings. Doors go back on once the enamel has cured enough to handle, typically on day five to seven.
